The First CSA of 2018

Is it spring?  I keep thinking Spring here than we get random below freezing nights.  All is not doom and gloom, however, this marks the first week of the 2018 CSA season! This share is mostly brought to you by two passive solar greenhouses.

mokum carrots

red ace beets

hakurei salad turnips- a turnip that can be eaten fresh!

cherry bell radishes

lettuce mix(red and green)

joi choi- pac choi        pac choi is an asian green in the brassica family.  it is closely related to bok choy also called Chinese cabbage or napa cabbage.  the main difference is that pac choi has long stems, think less celery without the strings.

I braise it as a side or use it in a stir fry.

Enjoy!
